Author(s): Safa Fassihi

Abstract

Outcome Measurement Instruments (OMIs) are employed by surgeons, healthcare systems, and the United States Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to assess the quality and patient satisfaction associated with total joint arthroplasty (TJA). OMIs are more frequently being used to assess surgeon quality and influence compensation under the Comprehensive Care for Total Joint Replacement (CJR) program.
